What this covers

Brain Buzz Chat provides the assistant that some businesses use to answer questions on their website and by text message. When you give a business your mobile number through one of these assistants, the text messages you receive come from that business. We send them on their behalf.

When you will be texted

Only after you have asked to be, and only about what you asked about:

  • Continuing a conversation you started in the chat, if you chose to move it to text.
  • Confirming an appointment you booked, and reminding you before it.
  • Replying when you text the business first.

The first message you get will ask you to reply YES before anything else is sent. If you do not reply, nothing else is sent. Nobody is added to a marketing list, and your number is never sold or given to anyone other than the business you contacted.

Stopping messages

Reply STOP to any message and they stop immediately. You do not need to explain, and it works whether or not the assistant understood the rest of your message. Reply START if you change your mind, or HELP to be told how to reach the business another way.

Cost and frequency

Message and data rates may apply — that is between you and your carrier; the business does not charge for texts. How many you get depends on the conversation. A booking usually means a confirmation and one reminder.

You are talking to software

Replies are usually written by an assistant, not a person. It will tell you so if you ask. You can ask for a person at any time and someone from the business will pick the conversation up, though not always immediately.

Your information

Your number, what you said, and anything you asked for are stored so the business can answer you and follow up. See the privacy policy for how long, and how to have it removed. Contact the business directly if you want your details deleted, or write to us and we will pass it on.
